This is my first pair of true hiking shoes and they fit great right out of the box. Much narrower than keens which work great for my feet. Took these things on a 6 mile hike the day I got them and didn't have any hot spots. Good traction and grip, breathability seems good although the summer will be the real test. Opted to not go with the gtx due to price, weight, and lack of breathability. Downside: after about 2 days I realized that the insoles were crap. So I went and got some Dr. Scholls work insoles and now they are much better. I wear these as my work shoes in Hospital so I spend damn near 12 hours in these things standing and am quite comfortable. Get new soles and you won't regret it. Great buy.

Ditto on the insoles. They just seemed a little loose, and on downhills my toes would hit the end of the shoe, until I put in a pair of insoles. Great fit, and VERY comfortable. Very sticky rubber too.
