wear and tear

I have a camelbak octane 14+, great piece of kit and cannot recommend it highly enough, however the mouthpiece valve can split where it meets the hydrolock, its just silicone so susceptible to break if placed under pressure (or stepped on etc). My advice, have a spare mouthpiece valve in your pack in case it pops.
