Solid Tent

By Ranked #766 - 3-Season Tents June 14, 2005

I am very impressed with this tent. I wanted something durable, solid, that vented well but was still warm enough for the snow, and less than 7 lbs. I wanted it for climbing, kayaking, skiing, and backpacking in the Washington Cascades and Sierras. I found it. This tent is a tank and it only has 3 poles! Clip up design makes set up so easy and allows air circulation under the fly perfectly. The ability to adjust air movement and ventilation is incredible and you can make infinite adjustments to stay comfortable in any setting. With the main panel fully down stargazing is fantastic. With it zipped up tight, you're snug and warm even in the snow. The two doors and vestibules provide great access and tons of storage. I am 5'10 and for 2 people and gear the layout inside is absolutely perfect! The fly is tight and fit's down nice and snug to the ground. Requires 2 stakes on either side. My only real complaint is the color. I'd like to see brighter colors for getting stuck waiting out long storms. I've used lot's of tents from Marmot, SD, and North Face and for what I do, this is my favorite tent so far. For those of us who want one tent for the widest variety of environments. Nice work MH! Now let's see how long it will last….
