Who cares if the pot holders are discolored... and what plastic? It's 16,400 BTU's of heat, of course it will melt plastic... keep it away from it! I've used this stove on the past 3 backpacking trips and it's phenomenal. It's super light weight, folds up small and has a nice scratch proof carry case so you can place the stove inside your pot, and it barely uses any fuel... I'm still on my same canister! This stove can't be beat for $50, 2.7oz, and 16,400 BTU's!
