Snowshoes are nice

I received this kit a while back as a gift, I was very anxious to get some snow here in Colorado so I could try them out, and this weekend was PERFECT!! The actual snow shoes are pretty nice, I really like the color and size, they are perfect for a woman! Other then that I find them kind of hard to tighten and put on. The strap in the back does not stay latched and pulling the straps in the front to tighten them around your foot can be a struggle, and something that needs constant attention. Once they are put on correctly and fastened, they worked just fine, we went hiking in about 2ft. of fresh powder (with a base of about 50-70in) and they held up just as good as my boyfriends heavy duty snow shoes. As far as the rest of the kit, the gators were a bit too small for me. Granted my calf's are huge, I couldn't get them to close around my whole leg, so now I just have a pair of gators that don't fit, and that really sucks. The poles were trouble too, they came with snow baskets for the bottom of the pole that I had to put on myself. No one could get the cap off the bottom of the pole to put the baskets on (even the guy at the ski shop) so we ended up having to cut them off, but after that we were able to get them on and the poles worked great!!
All-in-all, for the price, $150 for snow shoes, gator's, and poles, it was a pretty good deal!
