Great shoe but designed to wear out quickly

I have finally given up on the Lowa Tempest Lo as my favorite shoe after about 5 pairs. They fit my foot great but the fabric on the heel box wears out quickly and I wind up throwing out an otherwise good shoe. I can no longer stand the waste.
