Very nice boots

The Vasque Zephyr Tech Backpacking boot are a very nice boot. The innovative wire cord to replace the traditional shoelaces is an amazing idea. Once you slip the boot on, you simply begin to turn (click) the wheel (which is on the top of the tongue) and the metal cords begin to tighten up the boot uniformly. Thats right no pinches, no weird lil lose pockets of floppy feet. It wraps em up snug as bugs. Ok, the arch support is a wee bit lacking, I could use just a tiny bit more but it is far from a deal breaker. The soles are very nice and retain traction over wet,dry and snow with ease. The toe box is very strong so you don't have to worry about the uber nasty toe stinger while grouping blindly around camp looking for your coffee. The squarish heel is good as well, it seems to promote a nice flow in your steps, plus when going down super steep sections the square heel is a good break and hold.
Overall I must say that I am very happy with these boots! Thanks to Backcountry for taking such good care of me, the "Chat Now" feature is a life saver.
Happy trails to all!
Shane
