Mountain Hardwear Downtown Down Coat - Men's

Armpit too tight

By Ranked #2846 - Men's Down Jackets March 23, 2009

The coat looks slim and nice. But the armpit is too tight. It is also impossible to add layers under the coat. I feel that It is not as warm as many reviews indicated. I want to keep it but after several tries, I have to return it due to unbearable tightness of armpit.

Thanks. On this advice, I ordered a size up and found the armpits to be just comfortable but the rest of the jacket to be large (ie. true-to-size). It's a bit large on me at 6'0" 160, but works fine. Narrow armpits probably reflect the urban / stylish bent of this coat, but pit zips would have been nice to throw off some extra heat. Disregard the advice below that the jacket is not true to size. It's definitely "American sized" and not Euro (with the possible exception the armpits).
