The North Face Dhaulagiri GTX Backpacking Boot - Men's

Item #TNF2879 | 0 in Stock
5 Star Rating

Backpacked 40 miles through yosemite in these boots

By Ranked #775 - Men's Backpacking Boots March 16, 2009

I have bad ankles and they held up perfectly without the need of a brace in very rocky terrain. they give the perfect amount to keep from blowing your knee but still saving your ankle. Probably not super-cold weather boots, but I don't hike in super frigid weather anyway and I prefer a non-warm boot for more comfortable warm weather hikes.

Definitely tougher than I expected and they still look/feel in great shape. the vibram soles look like they have barely been hiked on (the Vibram name speaks for itself). I have had many other hunting/hiking boots and these are by far the toughest.

Cons: Don't buy this boot on-line without trying it on. I did that but I was frustrated from trying on millions of boots without finding one that fit and TNF has always made shoes that fit my foot so I took a huge risk, but it worked. Fit is half the battle with boots, you may have a great boot, but have the wrong fit so you have a bad experience and blame it on the boot (instead of blaming yourself for a getting a boot that doesn't fit right). I weight 170 so if you are a heavy dude I don't know, my review could be pointless.
