First of all... the description under the picture is different from the tech specs to the right. The insert glove is not Gore-tex as the description says. It is Gore Windstopper as the tech specs say. I asked someone before I bought them and they told me Gore-tex and when I received them they clearly were not. The shell is big and much bigger than I wanted. But, let me tell you this... they will keep you warm and dry if that is what you need. There is NO dexterity with these gloves. The is about 1/2 inch distance from your finger tip to the actual tip of the glove. So, you cannot use your finger tips. I got a pair that fit and the insert fit nicely. My hand fit nicely inside the shell. The outer layer of the shell was too long compared to the inner layer. Anyways, there is extra space in the finger tips which does not seem to be needed. There may be a purpose for that, but I cannot think of one. They are warm and keep you dry if you do not care to sacrifice almost all dexterity. The glove insert was nice to have for casual stuff though. I hope this helps.

Both descriptions are correct, but it is a little confusing. The outer shell fabric is a Membrain softshell fabric called Tropo (Genesis Jacket). A Gore-Tex insert is applied to this shell fabric using X-TraFit Construction which laminates the lining (DriClime) to the insert (Gore Tex)to the shell (Tropo) to eliminate slippage. 1.8 oz Primaloft insulation is used on the back of the hand for warmth, but not on the palm (better dexterity). The glove liner is not Gore Tex, it's a Schoeller soft shell fabric with leather re-inforcement. Keep in mind the glove liner fits true to size and correspondingly the shell is a little oversized to accomodate the liner.

What BCoop is basically trying to say is there is gore-tex in the shell, and the removeable liner is made of gore windstopper. In addition, if there is too much space in the finger tips, it's cause you have short fingers.
