Im new to these fuel stoves. Im ol school and have always stoked fires and brought tin foil for the cooking on campin trips. However, a couple years ago I decided to take a hike thru the AT in 2010 so I knew I needed to get me a good lightweight stove. I opted for the MSR pocket rocket and it has done me well thus far. I got this brand of fuel well, becuz it was recommended. I have been advised that any such fuel will work so I also bought a can of Brunton. The MSR was the first one I tried and because it has lasted so much longer than I had expected I still havent tried out the other brand. I have boiled dozens of ramens and made many hot chocolates and this one can still has life in her yet. I'm seriously thinkin bout goin with the 8 oz canisters on my next order because I have read many reviews that state they also will nest inside my GSI Soloist cookset. Should at least cut down on the resupply thru the AT. All in all, given its been my first experience Im happy boiling ramens and water in under 3 minutes.
