Ever Been Bitten By the "Hawk" in Chicago?

That's Chicago "Wind" in winter, buddy. It's strong, humid, and cuts thru you like a knife. But the McMurdo Parka keeps me warmer than I ever imagined. With few exceptions. I'm a 'Medium'. The roomy fit is a bit too 'Large', so the collar doesn't fit snugly around my neck, allowing the 'hawk' to bite. How did they manage in Alaska? Warm enuf to remove hood when the temps hit 30+ degrees, but when it dips into the teens, ooohh, really feel it around my neck. May have to reattach hood. Never had to zipper-up for warmth, just velcroed it all the way. Everyday riding the crowded 'el' or bus, I have to pull velcro open to keep from overheating! Pockets galore sometimes replace a briefcase. I wear my McMurdo constantly, in rain, snow and harsh wind blow ... and I'm toasty in Chi-town, with a tee, sweater and shirt!
