I gave 5 stars despite the fact that it wasn't the kind of pant I was looking for (Ill expand on this later). And also, despite the fact that I had horrible luck with my first shipment having been lost by USPS. Backcountry is a great company and tried everything to make it right by us. For that I thank them and wanted to let them know that theyve earned my business anytime. A great group of folks work for this company. I was really, really impressed!
Now the pants
I tried them on. I didnt take them for a ride but tried them on indoors. Im an XL. I bought a pair for my brother too (hes an L). The pants (in both sizes XL and L) felt and fit perfectly ONLY IF you dont mind the baggy, larger, tubular modern tailoring. And thats what we DID NOT like! Everything else about these pants was absolutely great! I wept having to send them back.
It seems to me that its becoming increasingly difficult to find SKI pants (not SNOWBOARDING looking SKI pants) which look like SKI PANTS. The baggy, snowboarding type of design seems to be the norm nowadays. I personally dont like it. It might be the age group but I dont like it. So if these pants had a more streamlined, conical design, I would have purchased a whole case of them hence the 5 stars I decided to award them. For the price you cannot beat the quality if you can ignore the big, fat look ;) I couldn't...
