great boot for the funky of foot

i have funky feet... and most boots grind my heels into hamburger. these boots (so far) have not given me too much trouble in the way of rubbing.
i am an avid hiker, usually 10-12 miles (day hiking) with a <15 pound pack on an average hike.
i have a skinny heel and wide base-of-the-toe area. the boot is a little snug around the widest part, but fits great all over. i wear an 8 in new balance running shoes, and the 8 in this boot fits well.
the waterproofing is great. i have worn them caving several times, and my feet have been about the only dry thing left by the end of the day.
the laces come untied a little bit easily... but this i can deal with.
i haven't worn them on any hard core hiking trips, only <7 miles and not with a full pack of gear. but even after my longest hiking day, there was only a little bit of discomfort for my heels instead of the usual blisters.
overall, i give this boot a great rating! if you have trouble with boots like i do, i think you will like this boot.
