Very comfortable, good traction when dry

These feel like more of a lightweight, barefoot hiking shoe than a sandal. The footbed is very comfortable, and they are easy to get on and off (even when wet, using the tongue and heel loops). On dry land, they have excellent traction and provide good support. I'm sure that they would be great for beach or boat use, but (as some have noted) they don't provide great traction on slippery rocks. I spend a lot of time in rivers, and while the toe-protection is wonderful, the traction on slippery river rocks is less than I hoped. Obviously, most sandals have problems on submerged, slick rocks. But I have found that if you are wading with these sandals then get out and scramble on dry rocks, the wet soles lose much of the traction they had when they were dry.
These are the sandals I use when I know that I'm going to hike for a mile or two, wade a river, then hike back. They are easily comfortable enough for everyday use, are decent for hiking, and do well enough in the water for most people's needs.
