X-Bionic Energizer T-Shirt

By Backcountry.com Employee February 24, 2009

I've tried so many products that claim to be able to wick sweat and keep athletes dry. None of these products have ever worked for me. Not Nike, not Under Armour, not Patagonia. I sweat. A lot. I can wring sweat out of my gym clothes after an hour of running. Salt crystals form on my skin when my sweat dries. So far nothing has been immune to the power of my sweat glands, nothing wicks my sweat fast enough to keep me feeling dry. And then I wore this shirt. I described it to my friends as magical. I wore the long sleeved version under an Icebreaker merino wool 1/4 zip on a 5 mile run around a city park last week and could not believe how dry both shirts were. Thinking maybe the cool (40ish degree) weather was responsible for my lack of sweat and not the shirt, I decided to test the short sleeve version at the gym. After a 7 mile tempo run on a treadmill I was impressed to experience basically the same results. Now I'm not saying the shirt was completely dry, but it did what it claimed to do: it stores a small amount of moisture near strategic parts of your body to help regulate body temperature. I am really impressed with the technology and fabrication of this shirt and would recommend this shirt to anyone who thinks they sweat more than the regular person.
