Sizing is way off.

I'm a 34" waist and the Med was way too big. I traded it for the small and that was also too big. I'm not sure what the deal with this is. Maybe it's designed to go over a few base layers and ski pants???

It is designed to go over a few layers. Its marketed as an all-season harness because it can be used for mountaineering/ice climbing too, not just rock climbing. It also includes features like leg loops that disconnect in the rear, for people who plan to wear it for a LONG TIME (like mountaineers).
