When it first arrived I thought it was too big, but then I started to pack it with ski boots, jackets and gear. It was perfect. Even with both bags packed the airline had no problem with the size and I was even under the weight limit. (My friend had to pay overweight charge.) For travel through airport I even strapped skis on vertically and didn't need a cart. I would recommend this bag for any gear needs. It even has a removable divider to compartmentalize the gear.
