The loose cut fit allows for freedom of movement while skiing. There is no binding or riding up. These pants are extremely warm. The zipper thigh vents work great on warmer days. They are definitely very cool looking. I agree with other reviewers that they tend to run long in the leg and big in the waist. If you are in between sizes, go with the smaller one.
