This bag was big enough for an 8 mile hike into the desert. It also works well as an everyday bag with a removable waist strap. My complaint? The inside of the bag is beginning to fray near the seams with less than a year of use. I just bought a replacement bag from S&C (different model) and it seems to have better construction around the seams so maybe its just an issue on older models or an issue with this model.
