Ranked #1166 - Women's Softshell Jackets
February 2, 2009
I've been in the market for a softshell for a while, so I couldn't resist. The "Blue Sky/Celestial Blue" is prettier in person, but not quite the color my monitor portrayed. The both the light and dark blue are more teal in color, rather than bright/sky blue. I am 5'2", 115 lbs, average/fit build and the Small fits like a technical jacket should - fitted, with enough room for a long sleeved shirt and a thin baselayer... too much more than that and you might start to feel awkward (also, the bust may be a bit snug if you're larger than a 34 C). The jacket stops right at the top of my hips, which was similar to the 6 yr old Marmot fleece that it's replacing. The sleeves stop near the halfway point of my palms with my arms stretched out in front of me. This might be a teeny bit long for some and tells me that I can't go a size larger, but I could imagine it might be the perfect length for a taller person. As for performance, I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but you'll hear back from me if it doesn't live up to expectations. I am definitely happy as is.
