Psickness...... :)

Ranked #2023 - Men's Ski Jackets
January 29, 2009
I've been using the Stinger for 2 weeks of skiing in Colorado and have to say it's the best designed jacket I've tried. The high collar does an awesome job of sealing the elements from above and I've only resorted to a neck gaiter during the worst blizzards. Some have commented on the stiff neck and this is true, but it's because of the roll-away hood. Take out the hood and the stiffness is gone. The hood generously fits over my giro helmet and it doesn't snag when turning my head from side to side. I wear gauntlet gloves over the sleeves so no problems there.
The fit is generous. I'm 5'9" and the medium fits perfectly.
As expected...waterproof, windproof...duh. It's Gore-Tex. Breathability is much improved over some of the older Gore-Tex shells I've worn.
If I had to gripe, I'd ask for slightly larger pockets - but it's a nit-picky item.
Other jackets recently tried include the Patagonia Primo Flash (no pitzips and the hood snagged on my helmet) and Marmot LaGrave (softshell but I wanted hardshell GoreTex durability - and rather ugly).
And Jalapeno is Psick and makes it easy for friends to find me on the hill.
Definitely 5 stars !!!
