Let's start off with the same thing I said in my other reviews of the Slip-on Snow Clogs in this class.
I have owned several different Snow Clogs. Mostly because I could never find exactly one that fit my criteria. I was looking for something that was causal, warm, waterproof and a slip-on. I live in Chicago and as of the last two years the winter weather has gotten colder and we are getting more snow than ever. I need to find a Clog that would work good in the snow, keep my feet dry and warm enough for the zero degree days and the last criteria was to be able to wear during the day in the office with a pair of Khaki pants. So big boots were out!
I currently have 3 pairs of different slip-on winter mocs, Keen Whistlers, Merrell Shiver Moc, and these Salomon Snowclogs. They are all Waterproof, insulated, have snow traction Soles, and of course a slip-on style...I love slip-ons.
The Merrell Shiver Moc are a great slip-on...a little tougher to get on (Slip-on) than the Keen Whistler...which was the easiest by far. They are narrower than the Whistler as well...Keen seems to make a wider shoe than everyone else. The Shiver Moc is made well...something I have come to expect from Merrell. They are warmer then both the Salomon Snowclog (not the Snowclog 3...that is warmer than these three) and the whsitler. They are the warmest of the three...the polartec makes them wearable to the zeros but dont expect much more. Snow traction is pretty close to the whistler (Whistler is better) but not anywhere near the Salomon Snow Clog. Style wise...which is mostly subjective, these work better in the office than the Snowclogs but not as sole low-profile friendly as the whistler. Making the whistler the choice in the Office. Of the three Slip-on I have, these are my 2nd place pick. You can never go wrong with Merrell!
