I bought a pair of these last April. My buddy who walked the PCT swears by light weight trail running shoes instead of boots for backpacking. I was skeptical, but gave these a try. After 9 months of use, I can't see going back to traditional boots. I used them on mutiple 15+ mile weekend backpacks and a 65 mile week long Sierra Trek. There great on and off the trail. Plenty of grip for rock hopping. And, my favorite part, I don't even attempt to avoid water crossings any more. I just walk right through them and the shoes seem to dry out in less then 10 minutes of walking!

Not true on the wet factor. I own these and they stay wet u can pull off your socks and dry everything out and they at best will dry in about an hour.
