Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandal - Women's

That darn toe strap

By Ranked #131 - Women's Technical Sandals January 26, 2009

I love Chacos (I have like 6 pairs), but I can't do the ones with the toe strap. On every pair I have tried, that little strap digs into my toe and it HURTS. No matter how much adjusting I do, it never really helps. My big toes are indeed big, so if you have the same issue, these sandals probably aren't for you. Try the Chaco Z/1 series instead.

After wearing my chacos with the toe strap and having it strangle me the first few months it FINALLY loosened up and now I never ever have problems. Good luck!

I have an older pair with a toestrap and I wasn't able to losen it, so now the strap is just under my toe and has become part of the sole! Yeah just walk on it!

I have the same problem. I have loosened the big toe strap about 50 times and it always goes right back to too-tight in about 10 minutes of walking. The rest of the sandal feels great, but since I can't get the toe straps to stay, I ended up with a bloody toe after hiking about 10 miles in the Z/2s over the past week.

just loosen the toe strap. and you won't have as much control and stability in the z/1. the z/2's are by far the most superior sandal on the market so far. but by all means if they strangle your toe go with the z/1's but i've never experienced the issue.
