Cover my valve!

I just installed my platypus bite valve and i love it! I always found myself drinking sand with my water. This has corrected that problem! I recommend this to anyone! Installation is a breeze, and the cap snaps on what more could you ask for. It is the simple things that can make you miserable on a trip.

How the heck do I get the bite piece off the tubing. I have pulled straight, twisted and turned and used hot water on the tube. I am glad it's secure, but if I can't get it off at all, I can't clean properly or get the valve cover on. Any suggestions?
