This is the best jacket I've ever purchased. It works flawlessly against rain/snow and wind. I live in Michigan and the winters are brutal, but I'm always nice and toasty. Sometimes when I walk to school or work I even work up a sweat. At night, or when it's below 25 degrees I usually throw a fleece on underneath for a little extra warmth (I suggest the Patagonia R3). There's plenty of room. (I'm 5'7" and 150 and I got a medium.) It also has a very nice feminine fit and it's unnecessarily baggy so I don't feel like I pulled on my boyfriend's ski jacket by accident. The hood is completely adjustable which is great. My only complaint in that the top of the zipper sticks up and rubs against my chin sometimes.
I know it's pricey, but if you're cold by nature or spend a lot of time out in the cold, it's worth every penny. TRUST ME!!
