Ranked #177 - Men's Down Jackets
January 13, 2009
I was looking for a warm, water-wind-proof, breathable jacket to "survive" the Ohio winters.
I'm 6'1 and 165lbs and the M is perfect. It fits comfortable and the sleeves are long enough.
It could be longer on the waist but I personally I prefer it like that (more for style reasons).
I wore that jacket for up to almost 5F degrees. No problem at all. You can also easily layer with a fleece since it's not tight. (I wear my Khumbu all the time for exapmle). Oh and it looks that it's good with the rain too (as it should be since it's a hyvent)
Things that I like:
- The padded hood protects really well.
- You are perfectly protected from wind. I was surprised I didn't feel anything.
- Even in "warmer" days, around 40-45 days I didn't feel so warm in it.
- Rugged construction
Generally I'm very happy with my first TNF jacket. I found it kinda pricy but I think it worths the money. You can also check from live.com/cashback to get a percentage back. I got $30. Not bad.
Btw, I got some nice compliments too! :P
