Ranked #908 - Men's Backpacking Boots
January 2, 2009
I originally settled on these boots because they're made to carry heavier loads. They offer great support and stability over uneven terrain. The soles are pretty sticky too if you're on rock. I will typically wear a liner sock and did so when I broke these in. The break in period was fast and I never had any blistering or discomfort. In fact for my feet which are very wide they've always felt great. I bought a half size larger to make up for the extra bulk of the liner sock and the over sock (liners are recommended to be worn with this boot my the manufacturer). I have seen other reviews stating that the boots are not water proof, perhaps there's some inconstancy between pairs. I have walked through streams with them many times and haven't experienced any leakage at all. Again, maybe they are not all made equally, my laces have plenty of extra length. Mine do me well.
