I was looking for a high performance Freeride board with a slim waist, as I have a 7.5 foot. After a ton of research it came down to the Burton Supermodel, Nitro Pantera, and the Ride Concept UL. I defiantly made the right decision, this thing is absolutely sick.
When I first got it I was skeptical of a few things.
First, when I bent the board to check the stiffness it seem mid-stiff at best, which is not good. This was an illusion however, because the 7 carbon strips stiffen the nose and tail and leave the center alone. This board hold an edge like a champ, I've never felt like it was farting out, even at super high speed (30mph) with thrashing deep carves, this thing kept asking for more.
Second: The fabric top sheet. I thought this thing wouldn't last the first day. To my surprise it's held up well, even with the ratchets from my bindings scratching and hitting it. I do still get a little nervous when a gaper is behind in a line though.
The crazy thing about this board is that everything in the world likes to stick to the top sheet (wax, lint, your girlfriends hair) except snow.
All in all, this is a sick ride.
