The Gasherbrum 11 ski poles have been with me four times into the backcountry this season. The locking mechanism adjusts easily and holds its position even when weighting a hard driven pole plant. Swing weight feels great in your hands. First trip out with new leather gloves that got a bit wet transferred that moisture to the neoprene handle witch then froze with a slick icy sheen. It dissipated fairly quickly but was quite slick to hold onto for a bit. When adjusting to walk mode with my older model dynafit bindings the pole tip is not completely received into the heel adjustment opening. I've broken numerous pairs of Black Diamond Carbon Fiber poles because of that very issue. I guess I'll be extra careful and not put undo torque on the tip just in case.
