Functional and Cute

By Ranked #312 - Women's Down Jackets December 22, 2008

I just got this jacket and overall I really like it. It's warm, the Hyvent shell feels impenetrable, and it's pretty cute for a warm jacket. I'm 5'9", with fairly long arms, and the sleeves are long enough (but by no means too long - not a lot of extra length). I got a medium and the body feels cozy without feeling tight anywhere. The belt is sort of silly; it's not adjustable at all, so it doesn't really "slim" the way that other reviewers have said, and it doesn't come off so it sits on what would be the waist of a slightly shorter person but was too high for me. I cut it off, actually, and it looks very cute. I would love it if the NF and other gear manufacturers would make gear for different heights as well as different widths of women, but I've been asking for years (I'm sure all women over 5'7" have been, sigh) because this coat would fit better if it was made longer but not wider. I also immediately removed the fake fur. I don't know what it's supposed to add to the jacket besides perhaps style.
