I wanted to love these, I really did. I have worn Capilene base layers for years and have been pretty happy, but after hearing friends and sales reps talk up merino wool, I decided to give some a try. Performance-wise, I am very happy. I wore these out snowboarding on a warmish day and they wicked my sweat away and regulated my temperature. As far as style and fit go, they are not my favorite. I call them my "Granny pants" because the rise and legs are so long. I'm 5'6" and I can pull these puppies up almost to my chest. I guess it's ok, the high rise kept my hind end covered when bending and falling with low rise pants, but I would have preferred them to be slightly lower and with a wider waist band. The skinny little thing on them pinches in just a little. I'm keeping them, but I did order the SmartWool ones as well. We'll see if those work out any better.
