La Sportiva Makalu Mountaineering Boot
By pka2492957
Ranked #658 - Overnight Backpacks (2000 - 2999 cu in)
November 21, 2008
This is the best boot for heavy duty, off-trail hiking, scree slopes with the occasional ice. It's stiff, but comfortable. I put >2000 miles on my first pair. I changed to the Glacier for awhile, but those blew out in 1/3 the time, so I'm back with the Makalu.
