Like this MSR filter. I also have a SweetWater, but you have to assemble the handle every time you use it. The MSR filter has lasted me a long time. I filter clean running water with the MSR also, never know what was up stream.

ha-ha! Thats so true, we lived in a cabin and got all out water from the creek, for years, and used the mimiwoksd for drinking water, then one day I found a dead rotten possum upstream.

You're right on about not knowing what's upstream: One spring when I hiked up to a lake in the Sierras that cascaded into the lake where I was camped I discovered the carcass of a deer in about 4 feet of water about 10 feet out from the bank--probably fell through the ice during the winter and drowned. I used to drink out of that stream all the time, but was always leery about any water, running or not, afterwards...
