Because the Axial2 Freeride 150 has more metal in it than the Axial2 140 ti..it is a much heavier binding. Having said that, it is also a much more bomber binding. There is less plastic to break on this binding. There are some new bindings out this year, like the SAS2 140 binding that would be lighter than this, and still be pretty bomber. But if you want an 8-15 DIN binding and you want it to be super strong, this binding is an awesome choice. I love how Rossignol bindings have the highest elasticity of any binding on the market, which makes you fall out of the binding less, but still allows you to come out when you need them to release.
