My wife and I used the personal mosquito shelters in a breezy cabin in Marumbi park in Parana State, Brazil. Although malaria is not a problem in this region, we were concerned about dengue and biting spiders. In fact, before bedtime we saw a spider that reminded me of the North American wolf spider and was about 4 inches in diameter. The nets allowed us to get a good night's sleep with no concern about mosquitoes, spiders, or the other unusual insects we found there. In addition, although the holes are probably large enough for a "no-see-um" to get through, they greatly exceed the World Health Organization standards for malaria prevention. I do recommend this net for anyone who is traveling to the tropics. One other thing, you might want to prepare ahead of time by attaching velcro or elastic straps to keep the net seated beneath your sleeping pad, because it has a tendency to come free at the edges.
