"Nice Shell" - Review of The North Face Varius Guide Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 By Buyer002 on December 7, 2006
This is a 2-layer (TNF calls this Hyvent) shell to fit over the Denali fleece or Nuptse jacket to give you wind and water protection and an extra layer of warmth. What surprised me when I received it was how exceptionally well it was constructed. A quick look over how it was pieced together really is impressive. That's what you get for a $200 jacket, besides the fact that Gore-Tex is an expensive material (because of the PTFE aka Teflon) which makes all technical shells around this price. Some of the color schemes aren't my cup of tea (though you can't go wrong with the classic blacks, blues, or greys) and maybe it's not as stylish as say a Spyder jacket, but it does it's job well and is really well made.
