"What happened to this glove?" - Review of Burton AK Gore-tex 3L Throttle Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 By scm (2) on January 22, 2007
The AK 3L glove used to be one of the best gloves on the market, and then for some reason Burton radically changed the fit of this glove and it is now borderline terrible. But it's not all bad. Pros : The shell is fantastic. Other than the gauntlet being too short for my liking (it's practically an under glove size), it's superbly constructed and of course the Gore-Tex makes it waterproof. The included power-stretch liner is also great. I use this glove for driving and to wear while putting on my boots, etc. in the parking lot. The styling of the newly designed glove is great also. The black and red work nicely together. Cons : The liner. The liner. The liner. I understand Burton's desire to make this glove a bit more dexterous, but the fit is so tight that it makes the glove too cold to wear in anything other than spring conditions, which is not what this glove is designed for. I wear a large glove, but even the XL is far too tight for me to wear comfortably. Any of the great features of this glove are completely outweighed by this major design flaw. Bottom line : skip this glove, and buy something else. If you must own Burton, try the AK under glove or the Pinnacle XCR.
