I am 5,9 and 145 pounds. would the 179 be too much of a ski for me? i'd say that i am an expert pow/backcountry jibbing skier.Thanks.

No, it won't. Since it is rockered the ski will ski a lot shorter than 179. I bought a pair of 191 scott p4's thinking they would probably be to big for me and they turned out perfect. I am also 6' 3" and weigh 190. If I were you I would try and demo them. Also it would be helpful if you posted your skiing ability because I know a couple of years ago I couldn't have handled something as big as the 191.

Honestly i think so. The dimensions are pretty big and your dimensions don't really fit the ski's. Plus it is Rocker and that will help with any float problems. In the end i think the ski will just be too much for you (your dimensions) to handle. I might even have a problem with the 189cm (i am 6'2" 175lbs. and that is what i would normally ride), i might get the 179cm!
