the LCD viewscreen on digi cameras eats quite a bit of power. Most people are suprised at how long the cam goes if you turn of the screen.

Unless your camera has a dc imput you cannot. However if you do, then you would be able to charge your camera, however you should know that cameras have the greatest power draw of most personal electronics, this means that you will be spending more time waiting for the camera to charge while taking fewer pics. If you can look into other solutions.
