What about that hydration compartment? can it handle a 100oz. without the hydration bag taking up to much space ????

Yes, it can handle a 100oz reservoir. As to whether it takes up too much space in the pack... well, that depends. Figure the full hydration pack will take up 7% - 8% of your total listed volume on the 2650, and 6% - 7% on the 3100, assuming you have the full use of the manufacturer's listed volume. If carrying slightly less than 10% of your load volume as water works for you, then you have enough space. If you are using this as a typical day pack or passable-weather overnight pack, it should not take up too much space.
