These pants are made with what we call 'Canyon Cloth' which is essentially a synthetic lightweight cotton canvas that is pretty soft to the touch. If you want even more specific details, Canyon Cloth is a 100% nylon twill with a 70Dx160Dx90 thread count. Also, the fabric is treated with a molecular moisture process that allows moisture in the vapor phase to escape before it becomes sweat. It also has a UPF of 50 and that is after 30 washings. The fabric weighs 3.3oz./sq.yd. Also, Pat mentioned they were stretchy... the fabric has a little give but they are not stretchy. We have other pants like the Talus Pant that are really stretchy. Kinda thin, kinda stretchy. Not soft like silk, but soft for sure. The fabric texture is like that of perhaps, the non-sticky side of sports tape or that of light schoeller fabric, maybe...
