I'm a novice to intermediate skier that is just getting back into alpine after taking about 15 years off to develop a career. I'm all set up with my gear now with the exception of a very good, but not overlly expensive pair of goggles. I ski primarily in Wisconsin, but my family is planning to go out west to Colorado and Montana once a year (January 2010) to ski. I do have a smaller head (Medium K2 helmet) which would lead me to the Oakley A's, but I like the peripheral advantage of the Crowbar.
Could you give me some guidance on the best lens choice, and Goggle please?

If you wear a helmet you should go for the crowbars. I wear a brain bucket with a slightly larger size and the goggles fit over them just fine. The goggle strap has a sticky plastic thing on it that makes it impossible to slip. So what i'm saying is if you wear a helmet, this is the only goggle you should even consider.

hi persimmon o maybe a Pink Iridium would be ideal. If you are on pricepoint, then persimmon will suit your needs fine. you can always upgrade lenses later, if needed.

crowbars are the best helmet fitting goggle hands down, and probably the best fitting goggle ever made, sooooooo comfortable, its like a face pillow :-)...a frames are the WORST helmet fitting goggle hands down and distribute pressure very un-evely ...and as for lenses, persimon totally sucks, go for the H.I. persimmon, yeah they sound alike but the small "H.I." in the dramatically increases contrast in ALL light condition, sunny to night...that is an AMAZING lense for everything (moderatley sunny, cloudy, storming, fog, flat, night, anything really)...except bright bright bluebird sun...i mean its just one lens, cant do EVERYTHING...but H.I.P. is as close as it gets

For lens the persimmon would be your best bet. It is the do all lens that works in all light conditions. For vision the crowbar is the best. It has the spherical lens and great peripheral vision. It is also incredibly comfy to wear and does not put extra pressure on your head.
