what about the hip belt - does it have one and is it padded enough to carry 50-60 pounds a few miles?

It has a small hip belt, but not padded, I do not think it will hold 50-60 lbs comfortablyDustin- as they said it is NOT padded. They do have one which is large and has a padded belt. It is called the Sealline Pro Pack.
