Does the single wall pose any threat as far as mist getting in or fabric dripping due to touch during rain/downpours?

Actually, it's a hybrid tent, with part of it being a single wall. As for the mist/water getting in, I'm not sure...

It's not a single wall. The tent is mesh, which is not waterproof at all, and the fly is waterproof and windproof but not as breathable (obviously) as mesh. You might get a little condensation on the underside of the fly during rain or cold nights, but as long as the tent is set up properly and the fly doesn't touch the tent fabric, it shouldn't drip.
