Yes, the pali is tight, how do you stuff your rope in it BTW?I always fear that whenever I stuff it in I might rip the side zipper/stitching etc

yeah i do the same as kevin. i have the ropemaster ropebag by metolius and i have a 50 meter 11mm rope that fits perfectly fine

The rope goes down in the bottom. I stuff in my my 60m 10.2mm rope inside its Metolious rope bag and have had no problems. I haven't noticed any strain on the zippers or stitching. The zippers are pretty big and tough. Even fully loaded I have never had trouble zipping them up.
