Spyders steeps and powder shell jackets are helmet compatible?Should I be able to slip the hood over my helmet without unzipping the front zipper?

Yes they are helmet compatible. You may have to unzip the front a little to fit your helmet in their, depending on the style, but it will fit a helmet.
