There's a thumb switch in the middle of the handle, just under the blade. Kick it to the side and close the knife.This knife uses a "linerlock" mechanism to unlock the blade by moving the liner, located inside the body cavity, either left or right. The thumb stud, not a switch, is only used for assistance in opening.
