Is this jacket better then the North Face Tempest Down Jacket. I live in Canada and right now it is -31C. I want a warm jacket.

Both jackets will keep you warm. If you want a little more weather protection in the jacket itself I would consider theTNF Tempest or - a more apples to apples comparison - the Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Hooded Jacket. That is the jacket that I would be looking towards if I were you. Afterall, it is baffled like a sleeping bag! Good Luck.
